Police arrest American alleged child molester in resort town

Santo Domingo.- An alleged child molester was arrested Monday in San Pedro de Macoris (east) by National Police agents and officials of the Office of the Prosecutor .

Media report that Robert Williams, 53, was apprehended on charges of taking photos and videos and of having sex with minors.

In a statement, the Justice Ministry said Williams, of Washington State, was arrested in the town Guayacanes during a search of his home.

In his house, the statement says, agents seized two laptops and related equipment, condoms, lubricants and a girl’s swimsuit, adding that the accused, who previously lived in the town Boca Chica, had been residing in Guayacanes just one month.
