Americans mark 12th anniversary of 9/11 attacks

New York.- Authorities of New York headed by mayor Michael Bloomberg on Wednesday headed the ceremonies to mark the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks against New York’s World Trade Center, the Pentagon in Washington, and the deaths from the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania.

President Barack Obama headed the ceremony in front of the Pentagon, accompanied by his wife Michelle, and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

A separate ceremony was also held in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
