A 4.3 magnitude tremor shakes southern region

Santo Domingo.- A 4.3 magnitude tremor shook Dominican Republic’s southern region around 4:19am Wednesday, with no damages reported thus far.

According to the U.S. Geodetic Survey, the quake’s location was 18.479° North latitude and 70.693°West longitude, at a depth of 9.0 kilometers.

The Santo Domingo State University Seismology Institute said the quake occurred northeast of the town Estebanía, Azua Province, and also felt in the cities of Baní, Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal.
