Miguel Vargas says the PRD is not linked to the call for strike

Santo Domingo.– Opposition PRD party president Miguel Vargas said that his party is not linked to the call for national strike on 22 and 23 October but emphasized the government has given reasons for the protest.

"As a party we have not been calling for the strike but we understand there are more than justified reasons to exercise the right to protest within the civilized framework the democracy and the Constitution give us," he pointed out.

Vargas said there are not consistent actions from the government to solve national issues such as public safety and electricity.
