Senator, Sun Land stole millions of dollars from taxpayers, accused say

Santo Doming.- The economist Jaime Aristy, the attorney Jose A. Ayuso and the writer Andrés L. Mateo, who were sued for slander by senator Félix Bautista, on Monday said they won’t recant on their accusation that the ruling party lawmaker embezzled millions of dollars from Dominican taxpayers, together with the Sun Land Corporation.

Bautista filed a lawsuit in a Miami, Florida court in against Escuder, Ayuso and Mateo, for alleged slander in the book "The dark side of Sun Land" released May 9, 2012.

In the book the three defendants said together with Sun Land, the Senator for San Juan province (west), then head of the powerful State Works Supervisory Office (OISOE), defrauded Dominican Republic out of millions of dollars.
