Bachata star detained in Panama to face drug charges in U.S.

Santo Domingo.- Interpol agents arrested the band leader Ramón Galvez (El Gringo de la Bachata) was Tuesday when he was about to board a flight in Panama with destination to Santo Domingo.

Quoting sources, listin.com.do reports that agents assigned to Interpol in Panama confirmed Galvez’s arrest in Tucumán International Airport, on an extradition an requested by the United States to face drug trafficking charges.

“The case is currently under the jurisdiction of Panama’s Foreign Ministry, for which his extradition to the United States is expected within the next few hours," the outlet reports.
