Supreme Court to rule today on country’s biggest land fraud case.

Santo Domingo.- The Supreme Court will rule Wednesday whether to continue the criminal proceedings against former Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) director Jaime Rodríguez Guzmán, his brother and his wife, in the Bahía de las Aguilas land fraud case.

The hearing is set for 9am at the Supreme Court, located at the Centro de los Heroes (Feria).

Domínguez said he expects the justices will strike down the Appellate Court ruling which halted the criminal proceeding, and vowed to continue until a conviction for land title fraud and forgery.

The Supreme Court accepted to hear the challenge to the lower court ruling handed down June 4, filed by National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso, in the country’s biggest land fraud case.
