Dominican, Haitian women pray for peaceful coexistence

Dajabon, Dominican Republic. – Hundreds of Haitian and Dominican women gathered in Dajabón (northwest) to mark the 6th annual of prayer meeting for the border, hosted by the municipality’s Border Women’s Network and various church groups.

From early Saturday some 500 Haitian women from Ouanaminthe and Fort Liberte, crossed the Dominican-Haiti border to meet Dominican counterparts for a three-kilometer walk through Dajabón main streets, stopping at various intercessions to pray for the peaceful coexistence of both countries.

Men also joined the walk which concluded at the Machado High School, in a gathering of groups of Haitian and Dominican worshipers.
