Electoral Board counts offspring of foreign parents from 1929 to 2007

Santo Domingo.- The Central Electoral Board (JCE) will start a count of people of foreign parents born in the country from 1929 to 2007, to comply with the Constitutional Court ruling handed down recently.

JCE member Cesar Feliz said 58,914 timely and delayed birth registries will be reviewed by a JCE committee, which will also define the logistics nationwide tally, with around 700 employees who’ll work overtime.

The official said the tally during one year will seek to identify irregular birth records of offspring by non-resident foreigners in the Dominican Republic during that period.

Feliz added that the tally will be book by book, for a definitive confirmation of the number of timely and delayed birth registries.
