Cuba to help DR reduce teen pregnancy

Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina met Friday morning with Mariela Castro Espin, the directorof Cuba’s Sexual Education Center (Cenesex), in an official meeting that lasted over an hour.

The Dominican head of state and Raul Castro’s daughter discussed variousissues, among them, the most appropriate and effective strategies to reduceteen pregnancy and maternal and infant mortality, as well as sexuallytransmitted diseases (STD) including HIV / AIDS.

They also talked about the possibilities of working together to promotereproductive rights and sexual health of women and girls and positively impactother countries in the region.
