Customs Agency provides holiday benefits for Dominicans abroad

Santo Domingo.– From today, Saturday,November 23, all Dominicans residing abroad will benefit from the “GraciasNavideñas” initiative as established in law 09-96, which allows them goods andgifts up to the value of US$S3,000.00, without paying taxes.

The Customs Agency (DGA)pointed out that the beneficiaries of this holiday grace must meet the requirementof not having visited the country in the past six months.

The initiative will apply atall airports, ports and border crossings, from today until January 7th, 2014, on the occasion of the Christmas and new year festivities.
