Canadian tourist drowns in an east region hotel pool

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. -A Canadian tourist drowned while swimming in the pool of a hotel of the area of Punta Cana, local media report.

Cristofer Nooe, 36, died from asphyxia by drowning and acute infarction, as certified by the La Altagracia Province (east) medical examiner Félix Tejada.

The foreigner was reportedly rushed to a medical center, where he was declared DOA.

The deceased Canadian national was slated to return to his country tomorrow Friday.
