High surf, small craft warning, mild temps, scattered showers

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Sunday issued a high wind and rough surf alert along the, from Cabo Engaño point in the east to Manzanillo in the northwest, and from Cape Engaño to Pedernales (southwest) on the Atlantic and Caribbean coastlines, where small craft should remain in port.

It also warns swimmers and surfers on higher than normal waves in all beaches.

The Meteorology Office (Onamet) meanwhile forecasts continuing scattered showers for the northeast, southeast, South coast region and Central Mountains, while temperatures will continue seasonably mild during the evening and early morning hours.

The east/northeast wind had gusts as strong as 25 knots along the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts on Sunday, with waves as high as 10 feet.
