In a visit with Dominican leader, A-Rod upbeat on resolving suspension

Santo Domingo.- Beleaguered slugger Alex Rodríguez on Thursdaysaid he’s optimistic that his suspension by Major League Baseball Commissioner BudSelig will be solved favorable, during a visit to Dominican Republic presidentDanilo Medina in the National Palace.

In a press conference held after meeting with Medina,Rodriguez said he’s proud to visit the Dominican Republic and its people.

"I am very proud of my country and to visit and sharewith my people," he said in a Tweet by the Presidency.

He also announced taking part in the Celebrity Golf Classicstarting in Punta Cana on Friday, hosted by Boston Red Sox designated hitter,David Ortiz.
