Windy weekend, high surf alert for all coasts

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) onFriday announced strong winds throughout the country and the entire Caribbean, froma high pressure system approaching from Puerto Rico this weekend, increasingtoward Sunday.

it said the system will bring strong winds from the east/northeast,with scattered showers for the east and northeast regions, increasing in theafternoon.

Onamet issued warnings of higher than normal waves alongall coasts becoming more dangerous starting Saturday afternoon due to strong gusts,for which it recommends that small craft stay in port.
