Opposition party: Process s leading to convention starts Jan. 30

Santo Domingo.- The committee that organizes the convention of Dominican Republic’s major opposition party (PRD) yesterday announced the start of the registration process for candidates to its national posts, from January 30 through midnight February 15.

Convention chairman Julio Maríñez said the process will begin with the election of the national directors, to take place from February 23 to March 23.

He said the municipal conventions and the sectionals from abroad will start separately on Sunday, April 6, whereas the national officers will be elected on July 27, and sworn in on August 17.
