Danilo Medina to visit Honduras and Cuba

Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina will travel to Tegucigalpa on Sunday to attend the inauguration ceremony of Honduran president-elect Juan Orlando Hernandez on Monday, and then will leave for Cuba to participate in the second summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

According to the President’s Press Office, after fulfilling his agenda in Honduras, Medina will travel to Havana to attend the Secomd Summit of CELAC Heads of State and Government scheduled for Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29.

CELAC, founded in Caracas in 2011, is considered as the most important institutional event of the region. Its first summit was held in Santiago de Chile, where Cuba assumed the pro tempore presidency that will be handed over this year to Costa Rica.
