Reinaldo Pared rejects division of Greater Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC), rejected the proposal of PRD deputy Arelis Duarte of dividing Greater Santo Domingo into three provinces.

Senate president Reinaldo Pared Perez said he disagrees, for he understands that what should be done is to issue a general law which governs all matters regarding the territorial division.

PRD party president Miguel Vargas Maldonado urged to not hurry the approval of new provinces because it could contribute to disorder. He advocates for a land-use planning study.
