Dominican youth to the President: Be furious against government corruption

Santo Domingo.- The youth movement La Multitud (the crowd) on Friday called on president Danilo Medina to also be "furious" against government corruption in his and the previous administration, which have managed to spread the veil of impunity over those accused of malfeasance with taxpayers’ money.

"Danilo gave an sample of how furious he can get, so we urge him to do likewise to confront past officials of the Presidential Palace," La Multitud said in a statement.

It said the best gift the President can give young Dominicans, on this national youth day is setting an example by ending impunity. "The country’s sovereignty is also linked to wellbeing, which the corrupt have stolen from the Dominican people."
