Surveys for Bahia de las Aguilas land fraud case conclude

Santo Domingo.- The case to sort the alleged titles for Bahía de las Aguilas (southwest), the country’s biggest land fraud case, advances in court, Real Estate Jurisdiction prosecutor Fermín Casilla revealed Monday.

He said the surveys on the thousands of hectares of beachfront lands have been concluded and delivered, to determine the number of people which physically occupy the land, on Parcel # 215. "We complied with the ruling, we’re ready to go to court," Casilla said, adding that "there’s no one physically occupying that terrain."

The National District Superior Land Court had ordered the surveys on October 7, 2013, and set the next hearing for Feb. 19 at 9am.
