Dominican consumer watchdog warns against use of drug Sinutab

Santo Domingo.- The consumer protection agency (ProConsumidor) on Friday warned people against the use of the flu medicine Sinutab and Sinutab PLUS tablet, made by Johnson & Johnson, on concern they form part of tainted batches which can lead to health issues and were banned in the U.S.
Pro-Consumers said people shouldn’t use the drugs until their manufacturer publishes lot numbers of the twenty pallets of the products sent to be destroyed in the U.S., despite which a customer later reported the pharmaceutical’s presence in the market.
“The warning comes as a precautionary measure to protect the health of consumers as required by the Law 358-05,” the regulator said in a statement to the media.
