Medina to adress the country on Independence Day

Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina said Thursday that he will defend the name of the Dominican Republic in hisannual Independence Day address to Congress.

"Today I will again have the honor to address the National Assembly after a year of an effective government. I reaffirm my commitment to defend the name of our country," said Medina through his Twitter account.

The president said that during his administration will continue to work tirelessly to bring the Dominican Republic on the path of prosperity and build the country Duarte dreamed of.
