French pilots’ drug trial postponed a 7th time

Santo Domingo.– The families and friends of two French pilots jailed in the Dominican Republic charged with drug trafficking are furious after a Dominican court postponed their trial for the seventh time.

Pascal Fauret and Bruno Odos were arrested on March 2013 after the Dominican Republic’s Antinarcotics Agency raided a Falcon 50 jet private prior to departing to France from Punta Cana Airport, and seized 700 kilos of cocaine from the passengers’ luggage.

The pilots and 38 other people, including two other French nationals, were in court for the seventh time on Friday but judge Elka Reyes postponed the hearing to 8 May to give the prosecution more time to work on the case.
