JCE: Haitians’ rights are more respected in DR than in Haiti

Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario said yesterday that the human rights of Haitians are more respected in the Dominican Republic than in their own country.

"In the Dominican Republic the human rights of our Haitian brothers are more respected than in their own country Haiti," Rosario highlighted, referring to the recent complaint by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH) regarding the "arbitrary" deprivation of the right to the nationality of persons of Haitian descent.
