Dominican-Interpol nab ‘most dangerous’ Italian mobster

Santo Domingo.- Dominican-Interpol agents on Sunday captured Nicola Pignatelli, 42, called one of Italy’s most dangerous fugitives, in the resort town Juan Dolio.

The foreigner had been convicted of drug trafficking and conspiracy as head of the "Calabria Mafia" group and sentenced to more than 15 years in prison.

Interpol said Pignatelli was captured on Juan Dolio’s boulevard five kilometers west of San Pedro (east) after a surveillance of over one month in coordination with its office in Rome, and on a warrant issued by Calabria’s Reggio Court.
