Penn & Shoen poll to dissect Dominican Republic politics

Santo Domingo.- Economist Bernardo Vega on Monday announced the release of the latest survey by pollster Penn Shoen, Berland, on Dominican Republic’s political panorama.

He said the survey asks eligible voters to state their preference for the country’s leading political figures such as former presidents Leonel Fernandez and Hipolito Mejia.

He said the poll asks “if the elections were held today, who would you vote for?” and on the popularity of presidential hopefuls Luis Abinader of the opposition PRD, and Senate president Reynaldo Pared and Tourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia of the ruling PLD, “in addition to the various parties.”

“We ask to rate Medina’s job performance and their view as to the most popular politicians, parties and a host of combinations on the current political panorama,” Vega said, interviewed on Despertador, Channel 9 Colorvision.

The pollster said the results of the poll will be disclosed starting 10pm Monday at Channel 9.
