5.3 tremor shakes most of the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- A tremor of 5.3 magnitude shook most of the Dominican Republic including the capital Santo Domingo at 5:16pm Wednesday, lasting several seconds.

The quake’s epicenter was 32 kilometres southeast of th country, with no damages reported thus far.

The tremor was registd southeast of the Mona Passage on the Carbiean Sea Mona, next to the seismically active Deadman’s Trough.
