Dominican naval forces to participate in Tradewinds 2014

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Republic will participate in the multinational exercise Tradewinds 2014 along with representatives from the United States and 16 other countries, from June 1 to 10 in Antigua.

Tradewinds 2014 is aimed at increasing regional cooperation to counter illicit trafficking and build participating nations’ capacity to plan and execute complex, multinational security operations.

The United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), which is the executive agent of Tradewinds 2014, will conduct the maritime training and disaster response exercise in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard and other facilitating agencies.
