Zany singer does disco gig, then whisked off in cuffs

Santo Domingo.- Zany urban merengue singer Peter Antonio de la Rosa (Omega) was arrested early Monday, after performing in a famous nightclub, from where he was whisked off to Santiago on a Court-ordered pre-trial detention.

The Justice Ministry’s Fugitive Capture Unit arrested De la Rosa in Santo Domingo as he was leaving the disco Euphoria, and escorted to Santiago.

The Santiago Court of Appeals had declared the urban merengue singer in contempt of court on May 22, after he failed to appear to start his pre-trial detention on felony charges including several people injured during a shootout in March at the Las Colinas Mall, on 27 de Febrero Av.
