Country’s most famous inmate could be released in 2 weeks

Santo Domingo.- The release of Dominican Republic’s most famous inmate could come as early as June 18, as the National District Office of the Prosecutor didn’t oppose her defense’s request for probation.

Sobeida Félix, paramour of Puerto Rican kingpin Jose Figueroa Agosto, on Wednesday went before San Cristóbal sentencing judge Willi de Jesus Mejia to request her release on ground that she needs to be with her children are slated to return to the country soon.

Félix’s lawyers asked the judge to grant house arrest, a motion which prosecutor Faustino Pulinario Rosario didn’t oppose.

The judge will hand down his ruling in a hearing set for 9am on June 18, in San Cristóbal (south).
