Dominican Republic’s is ‘world’s most defied’ police

Santo Domingo. – National Police chief Manuel Castro on Thursday warned that the authorities won’t allow criminals to "take over the streets of the country under no circumstances.”

The official responded to questions on the latest spate of alleged shootouts in which police agents have gunned down at least three suspects.

He said criminals have sought to “corral, defy and confront the authorities” across the country in recent days. "In no country in the world is the police authority so defied or confronted as it’s done in the Dominican Republic."
