Dominican President arrives in Rome to meet with Pope
Rome.- President Danilo Medina arrived in Rome Thursday and will to meet with Pope Francis in special audience in the Vatican on Friday.
Holy See envoy Fernando Chica Arellano received the Dominican leader upon his arrival in Rome, the Presidency said on Twitter.
Medina was also received by several diplomats based in Rome, including Dominican Embassy Cultural attaché León Bosch, eldest son of late former president Juan Bosch.
The chief executive departed on a private flight from Las Americas International Airport 8:15pm Wednesday and is scheduled to return Sunday afternoon.
