President Medina gives Pope Francis an amber rosary

Vatican City.– Pope Francis met on Friday morning with DominicanPresident Danilo Medina at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican, where the twoleaders exchanged gifts. Medina gave the Pope an amber rosary made by Dominicanartisans.

At the beginning of their meeting, before the gift exchange,President Medina sat down at Francis’ desk and talked about the DominicanHaitian relations. The Pope and Medina congratulated each other for the excellentrelations between the Dominican government and the Catholic Church.

Medina, who is accompanied by several senior officials anddiplomats, is scheduled to return Sunday afternoon.
