Media rumor: Foreign minister Morales resigns

Santo Domingo.- Several mainstream media have reported insistent rumors of Foreign minister Carlos Morales’ resignation, but president Danilo Medina said he was surprised” when asked about the unconfirmed reports.

"If it’s a rumor you can imagine. Let’s see, you’re apprising me of it now," said the President about the buzz about Morales’ reported resignation since early Tuesday morning.

Also asked about the topic was acting Foreign minister José Manuel Trullols, who also denied having such information.

Morales has kept a low profile since late last year when he was hospitalized for unspecified ailments, which also led to him to desist from seeking the presidency of the pro-government PRSC party.
