A 4.6 tremor shakes the northeast

Santo Domingo.- A 4.6 magnitude tremor was felt Thursday night with an epicenter in Samana (northeast), according to the US Geodetic Survey.

The Santo Domingo State University, UASD, Seismology Institute said the quake occurred around 10:30pm, 16 kilometers east of Samaná. No victims or damage were reported.

Local media report that the tremor was felt in several communities in Dominican Republic’s northeast, especially El Valle, Hato Mayor province.
