U.S. deports 58 Dominican ex cons, 970 thus far this year

Santo Domingo.- U.S. federal agents on Tuesday escorted a group of 58 Dominican deportees, released after serving time on convictions for drug trafficking, homicide and other felonies.

The deportees -55 men and three women- arrived aboard a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) airplane 12:30 noon at Las Americas International Airport.

Las Americas Immigration Agency officials quoted by listin.com.do said 970 Dominican ex convicts have been repatriated from U.S. territory thus far this year.
