Ports, airports on high alert for Ebola

Santo Domingo.- Public Health minister Freddy Hidalgo on Wednesday announced reinforced surveillance at ports and airports to prevent the Ebola virus from entering the country.

He said everything international agreements and protocols stipulate against the disease will be implemented, and affirmed that the population will be oriented about Ebola.

Hidalgo spoke at the Public Works Club in a meeting with health sector NGOs, who requested their permanent integration in prevention, as the only way to control dengue and chikungunya outbreaks.
