Three hospitals to be built on Dominican-Haitian border

Santo Domingo.- Public Health minister Freddy Hidalgo on Wednesday morning met with his Haitian counterpart Florence Duperval to discuss the construction of three hospitals on the border shared by the two countries.

According to sources from the Public Health Ministry, the hospital facilities will be located near Pedernales, Elias Piña and Montecristi and allow Haitian patients to receive care without having to come to the Dominican Republic in search of specialized health services.

The meeting, also attended by representatives of the European Union, included other topics such as the epidemiological surveillance and preventive measures regarding the Ebola virus.
