Tropical wave, trough mix for a rainy weekend

Santo Domingo.- A tropical wave over the Mona Passage moving west will bring downpours and thunderstorms to parts of the country Friday, the National Weather Office (ONAMET) forecast today.

It said the rains will be more frequent for the eastern provinces of La Altagracia, La Romana, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monte Plata and San Pedro, especially Friday after noon, gradually spreading to other regions toward evening.

It forecasts a rainy weekend from a new tropical wave and a trough, “which will again bring occasional cloudy skies, with scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest regions and the Central Mountain Range and border area, mostlry in the afternoon and evening.”
