4.7 quake rattles eastern Dominican Republic (Update)

Santo Domingo.- Update- Local media report that the tremor ruptured a a water main at the corner of México with 27 de Febrer avenues, in Herrera, Santo Domingo province.

File: A 4.7 magnitude quake shook Dominican Republic’s eastern region Thursday night, and felt across much of the country including the capital Santo Domingo, with no injuries or damages reported.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) placed the epicenter north of La Romana, 108.1 kilometers in depth, a around 10:12 p.m.

It said the tremor’s epicenter was 18.528 ° North latitude and 68.982 ° East longitude.
