Dominican Rep., Brazil widen probe in US$93.0M planes scandal

Santo Domingo.- Dominican and Brazilian officials widen the investigation into the alleged bribery and fraud when Dominican Republic bought eight Super Tucano intercept planes of Brazilian company Embraer for US$93.0 million.

The probe reportedly includes interrogation of Dominicans named in the scandal, including the Senator yet to be identified.

Dominican and Argentine authorities will announce new actions in the coming days in relation to the scandal, local media report.

Justice minister Francisco Dominguez has decline comment on the case several time, but last week revealed that Dominican Republic takes part in the investigation.
