VP says hunger reduction should involve all sectors

Santo Domingo.- Vice president Margarita Cedeño said Friday that hunger affecting 800 million people worldwide is a monster, and added that it is a human problem that everyone can help solve because food shortages prevent the development process of citizens.

Cedeño attended the benefit concert "The best voices singing against hunger," organized by the Vice-Presidency office, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the Agriculture Ministry and the Foodbank Foundation, with the goal of raising food for people with high needs.

The concert included performances by Victor Victor, Milly Quezada, Pavel Núñez, Xiomara Fortuna, Bobby Delgado, José Antonio Rodríguez and Janio Lora, who joined their voices at the UASD Aula Magna to celebrate World Food Day and motivate people to take action against hunger.
