Trial against embattled senator, 6 others starts Dec. 3

Santo Domingo.- Supreme Court Special Instruction judge Alejandro Moscoso on Monday set for Dec. 3 the first hearing for the trial against senator Felix Bautista and six others, charged with embezzlement and money laundering.

The indictment on forgery, graft and embezzlement also includes Soraida Antonia Abreu Martínez, José Elías Hernández García, Bolívar Antonio Ventura Rodríguez, Carlos Manuel Ozoria Martínez, Gricel Aracelis Soler Pimentel and Bienvenido Apolinar Bretón Medina.

Bautista’s properties

Supreme Court Special Instruction judge Frank Soto on Tuesday is scheduled to continue the hearing on Bautista’s challenge against the liens placed on several real estate properties of Inmobiliria Rofi, in which Bautista allegedly has a majority stake.
