Heightened security at all airports, access roads for holidays

Santo Domingo Este.- Law enforcement agencies on Sunday announced that the 2014 Security Operations start at all airports and their access thoroughfares next Wednesday, to protect Dominicans and foreigners who come to the country for the holidays.

After a meeting at the Civil Aviation Board, Airport Security Corps director Aracenis Castillo said the heightened security measures are already in place to protect citizens and foreigners at the terminals and on the roads leading to the cities.

"All state security agencies are involved in this operating together to achieve efficiency this season and that all Dominicans and tourists can come to the country to enjoy and return to their destinations without any difficulty after spending Christmas holidays here in Dominican Republic," the official said.

Castillo said the operation involves all airports with with more agents and operational units.
