Colombian brothers to stand trial on drug trafficking, money laundering

San Cristobal, Dominican Republic.- San Cristobal First Instruction Court judge Rosa Mateo ordered the Colombian brothers Oswaldo and Angel Maria Buitrago to stand the trial, charged with heading an international drug trafficking network.

The judge accepted the evidence submitted by the prosecution against the Buitragos, John Jairo Roldán, Ángel Fernando Vargas, Dersilida Ambalina Petrone, who’ll also stand trial for alleged drug trafficking, money laundering and weapons charges.

The official of the Special Anti-Money Laundering Prosecutor says the dismantled network operated drug lab in the village of Sabana Toro, San Cristobal province. Agents also seized dollars, guns and narcotics during a raid in La Caleta, Boca Chica, allegedly owned by the ring.
