A 4.5 magnitude quake shakes north region

Puerto Plata, DR.– A 4.5 magnitude quake, 26.4 kilometers deep, was felt west-southwest of Puerto Plata (north) Friday, the United States geological service reported.

The epicenter was located at 19.733°N latitude and 70.919°W longitude, or 17 km NNE of Esperanza, 19 km NNW of Villa Bisono and 25 km WSW of Puerto Plata.

The tremor was felt in other Dominican cities and panicked many people but no damages or injuries have been reported.
