Major armored truck heist in Santiago nets RD$17.0M

Santiago.-The National Police on Thursday said an armored truck driver fled with around RD$17.0 million in Santiago, making it one of the biggest heists in the country’s history.

It said the driver identified as Vicente Reyes Paulino escaped by hailing down two taxi drivers, as Police seek to establish their whereabouts.

The suspect left the truck #F75 in the sector of La Zurza II, Santiago, but police didn’t specify he exact amount.

Police Gen. Orison Olivencia Minaya reportedly heads the investigation, which established that the truck driver’s residence is located in the Ensanche Bermúdez subdivision. The transport company’s name wasn’t immediately disclosed.
