Washington, Santo Domingo to sign new extradition treaty today

Santo Domingo. – Dominican Republic and the United States will sign a new extradition treaty today Monday, although the details on changes from the previous agreement signed in the early 1900s had ye to be specified.

The treaty will be signed at Foreign Ministry headquarters (Mirex) by Foreign Minister Andrés Navarro and US Ambassador James W. Brewster, with the presence of Justice minister Francisco Dominguez.

On Wednesday the US envoy told reporters that the treaty -announced by Washington and Santo Domingo last October- will lead to greater collaboration between the two countries.
