No impunity in Police stolen drug case, top prosecutor warns

Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Dominguez on Thursday warned there’ll be no impunity in the Police Narcotics Div. (DICAN) corruption and drugs case and investigation will go where necessary to punish the culprits.

"There’ll be no cover-up of any kind in the DICAN case, the investigation will reach where it has to and investigate whomsoever," Domínguez tweeted.

"If someone under Justice Ministry authority thinks there’ll be no consequences they’re mistaken. Not in our tenure."

“We’re fighting to break the cycle of impunity, the connivance between crime and authorities once and for all"

"Although it’s painful for scandals like DICAN to occur, it is worse for society to trust that ‘all’s well’ when in fact it’s quite the opposite."

"The worst thing that can happen in a society is when there’s a false sense of peace resulting from the balance between the authority and narcos."

"We can not mix one thing with another. Any drug that reaches Forensics is analyzed and incinerated."
