Confirmed: US consulate suspends bachata star’s visa

Santo Domingo. – Sources linked to the staging of the "Lovers Concerto" show set for next Saturday (Valentine’s Day) at Upper Manhattan’s United Palace Theater, confirmed that the American consulate in Santo Domingo suspended the visa of bachata star Anthony Santos.

Elnuevodiario.com.do reports that Santos will reportedly seek the State Dept.’ reversal of the measure, helped by 13th District lawmaker Charles Rangel

It has emerged that the popular bachata singer’s visa was suspended for alleged tax evasion, but reports also point to ‘a technical error" in the request to renew Santos’ visa.

It’s the first time Santos encounters problems with his US visa thus far, despite his more than 15 years performing in that nation.
